About the event
Class description: Overlanding as a sport or lifestyle is not new but it has exploded in popularity in the last 10 years. In this workshop, we will be exploring vehicles, vehicle modifications, gear, tools, and technology that help make it enjoyable and learn how to avoid the gear trap and keep it affordable. We will look at the skills, equipment, and maintenance you need to keep both you and your vehicle safe and operational, and how to plan and execute a successful expedition. We’ll discuss how to overland responsibly, how to use overlanding as a team-building activity, and how it can be used for ministry.
About the Teacher: Josh Holloway grew up in Montana and is a lifelong outdoor adventurer. He enjoys skiing, hiking, backpacking, canoeing, overlanding, and exploring the most remote parts of the country. As a father of three boys and as the Pathfinder Director in Kalispell for nearly 20 years, Josh especially enjoys sharing the outdoors with young people and teaching the skills he has accumulated over the years. A confirmed gear enthusiast (much to the consternation of his wife), Josh can spend hours researching and testing the latest outdoor gear and his assortment of camping equipment is only surpassed by his wife’s yarn collection.
