A Match Made in Heaven

A 'Match made in Heaven'

Often we break our heads as to how we can serve our communities - what are the needs, do we have the resources to meet those needs, how will it make an impact?

One great idea is to partner with other like-minded individuals or organizations not only in our community but also within our own church - for example, with the Pathfinders!

Recently, Maya, an Adventurer with the Libby Adventurer/Pathfinder club, blessed our Red Cross Blood Drive in Eureka by volunteering along with her Mom and giving each volunteer a hand-drawn picture, indicating her appreciation of each volunteer and donor.

She also helped with preparing snacks which were offered to the donors during their recovery period.  Maya is being home-schooled and her Mom is very dedicated to teaching her how to serve as part of her Christian education.

A while back, the Kalispell pathfinder club assembled boxes of kitchenware which were donated to 10 Amish families who had lost everything in a local wildfire.

Perhaps you are already aware that there are Pathfinder honors to be earned in Community Service and Disaster Response.  Some of those honors will be offered at this year's Pathfinder Camporee in Gillette, Wyoming.  You can find some detailed information about the honors here:  https://www.communityservices.org/resources/acs-pathfinder-honors/

Working with the local Pathfinder club is a wonderful opportunity to introduce and involve our young people in service.  Make it part of your plan this coming year!
