About the event

Class Description: Class attendees will learn tips and tricks for how to cook when you’re camping, from “rough-it” recipes, to baking like “back home” with JD and his dutch oven over the open fire. Topics will include identifying wild edibles, menu planning, lightweight backpacking meals, car camping hacks and even surviving waterlogged canoe camps. Cooking demonstrations and plant-based recipes for attendees to take home will be provided, so bring appetites for taste testing, and a chair, for this outdoor class. Bring to class: a chair and your appetite!
About the Teachers: Alecia & JD Harding live in northwestern Montana between the Bob Marshall and Mission Mountain Wilderness’, with their kids, Laityn, Savannah and Ethan. They pursue a myriad of outdoor activities in the backcountry. Good cooking, while being off the beaten path, is a highlight and part of the fun of being in the woods together.
